    Euro zone investor morale rises sharply in February

    The Sentix index measuring investor morale in the euro ​zone rose unexpectedly in February, its ‌third consecutive monthly gain and its highest level since ‌July 2025, a survey showed on Monday. 

    The index rose to 4.2 points in February from -1.8 the month before, beating forecasts by analysts ⁠polled by Reuters ‌for a reading of 0.0.

    "The recession in the euro zone appears ‍to have come to an end and an upturn seems to have begun," said Sentix in a ​press release.

    The survey of 1,091 investors ‌taken from February 5-7 showed that both economic expectations and current expectations rising.

    Expectations rose to 15.8 from 10.0 in the previous month, while the index measuring the current situation ⁠also grew to -6.8 from -13.0 ​in January.

    The German economy is ​also contributing to the encouraging development in the euro zone, with the ‍index reaching -6.9, ⁠its highest level since July 2025, from -16.4 the month prior.

    "This could mean the ⁠end of the recessionary phase of the German economy," ‌according to Sentix.
